# About

I am Sebastian Dammark, and I photograph concerts.

Mostly rock and metal, mostly from the pit, in clubs and at festivals across
Denmark, Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. **I Do Concerts** is where that
work lives — when photography and interaction matters.

## What I look for

> When doing concerts, I mainly look for when the artist has an expression, or
> when they are doing something else than they are supposed to.

Three songs, no flash, and a barrier between you and the stage. Everyone in
the pit gets the same light and the same amount of time, so the frame that is
worth keeping is almost never the one the band rehearsed. It is the half
second after — a look off-mic, a hand where it should not be, someone
forgetting there is a lens six feet away.

That is also why the photographs on this site are shown large and one at a
time. A contact sheet flattens a night into a grid. A single frame at full
size gives it back.

## Who I have shot

Rammstein, AC/DC, Volbeat, Airbourne, Wolfmother, Rival Sons, Devin Townsend,
Clutch, Crowbar, Blues Pills, Kadavar, Artillery, Hatesphere, Savage Machine,
Velvet Volume, Oh Land, Love Shop, Malk De Koijn, Jedi Mind Tricks, Xzibit,
The Game, Mr. Sipp, Stefan Pasborg — among a good many others.

## The other half

Away from the pit I build for the web — frontend and web applications, with a
long-standing weakness for CSS, for interfaces that explain themselves, and
for making a team faster rather than only shipping my own work. This site is
my own: Astro on Cloudflare Workers, a WebGL ripple across the wall, and no
content management system I did not want.

The two halves are more alike than they look. Both are about timing, and about
knowing which details to leave out.

## About this site

IDoConcerts is the concert photography of Sebastian Dammark, a live music photographer based in Jutland, Denmark. The site is a wall of frames shot from the pit at festivals, club shows and arena tours — one gallery per night, with the venue and the date it was shot. The front page is a hand-picked portfolio; /galleries is every night in full.
